Lettering is an important skill for a graphic designer to have. To be able to communicate the message of a text, through the shapes and colors. This is a simple jet important project.
I always liked this quote by Cher. She was doing an interview in 1996 when saying this, meaning that she does not need a man, she have everything she need in her self. I wanted to give the quote a sassy and powerful feel. I also wanted it to have a 70's style, because cher is an icon, now and forever, but especially in the 70's did she make a name for herself.
SKETCHING
A little snippet of the proces: I started sketching some ideas, and when I made something that was not good enough, or did not communicate the right thing, I always answered 'why' that is. I can then continue sketching with that information in mind. Instead of sketching blindly, and risking wasting time and ending up with a result that does not communicate what it needs to. I did the same thing when it came to making the color palette.
